Fir oil, especially its use in baths and saunas, is highly not recommended for people with duodenal and stomach ulcers, as well as those with individual intolerance to this remedy. In addition, its use is contraindicated for people with an allergic reaction to coniferous plants. Fir oil is strictly prohibited to be consumed both internally and externally, together with alcoholic beverages. There are a large number of recipes for using this product in tandem with beer, most of these recipes are intended for baths. Few people know that fir oil and strong drinks are an extremely dangerous combination.

The benefits of fir in the bath

To prepare the composition, mix 15-20 drops of essential oil and 100 ml of vodka or alcohol, place it in a special container with a spray bottle. We treat the room 3-4 times a day, after ventilating it first.

Tea tree, eucalyptus or juniper oil are suitable for this composition. This method can be used both during the treatment of colds and for the purpose of prevention.

Inhalations are most often performed for coughs and runny noses. To prepare, you need to boil one liter of water, add 3-4 drops of ether to it. Essential oils of fir, sage, eucalyptus, rosemary, incense, and anise are ideal. Place the composition in a deep container, breathe over it, lowering your head. To achieve better results, you can cover your head with a towel. The duration of the procedure is no more than 10-15 minutes. Inhalations can be performed 2-3 times a day until complete recovery.

Rubbing is a method used to warm the chest when coughing. To prepare the product you need to take 1 tablespoon of base. This can be any vegetable oil (olive, coconut, sunflower) or fragrance-free baby cream. Add 5-6 drops of ether to the base. Rub the product with slow rubbing movements into the chest, back and neck. After the procedure, you need to dress warmly or lie under a blanket. Repeat no more than once a day, preferably before bed.

Aroma baths

A very effective, but at the same time unpredictable method of fighting a cold. It is better to resort to it at the first symptoms or, conversely, after treatment to support the immune system.

You should absolutely not take a bath if the temperature is above normal (36.6). To prepare the composition, mix 50 ml. bases (milk, honey or heavy cream) with 5-6 drops of ether. The finished composition is added to the bath at the last moment so that the volatile oils do not lose their beneficial and medicinal properties. The maximum water temperature is 37-38 degrees. The duration of the procedure is no more than 20 minutes.

Gargling is an effective way to treat a sore throat. For the composition, mix one glass of warm milk with any citrus essential oil (4-5 drops). Rinse every hour. Remember that you can't take essential oils internally, so don't ingest them. Do not use thuja or fir oil for rinsing, as they irritate the oral mucosa and can cause burns.

To prepare a compress, mix 2 tablespoons of vodka or alcohol with 3-4 drops of essential oil of mint, fir, juniper, frankincense or eucalyptus. Fold gauze or cotton cloth 3-4 times, dip into liquid and place on throat for 35-40 minutes.

Massage for a runny nose

To prepare a remedy for the common cold, mix 2 tablespoons of base (any vegetable oil) and 10-12 drops of essential oil (it is better to use a mixture of rosemary, mint, eucalyptus and pine in equal proportions). Dip your fingers into the mixture and do an acupressure massage of the sinuses, and also rub the wings of the nose. To relieve congestion, soak cotton swabs in oil and insert them into your nose for 10-15 minutes.

To carry out inhalation, add 2-3 drops of the product to a ladle of hot water and sprinkle it on the hot stones. Inhale the aroma deeply through your nose. If you are performing such inhalation for the first time, then start with 1 drop; if there is no allergy, then the dosage of oil can be increased later.

Inhalation can be done in another way. Take a fir broom and brew it with boiling water in a separate basin. Wait a few minutes. As soon as the broom is ready, you will feel the pine aroma throughout the sauna. To enhance the effect, bring the broom to your face and deeply inhale the aroma of the broom for several minutes.

Rubbing

The effect of use will improve if fir oil is rubbed into the skin. It is better to rub when the sore spots are warmed up. The bathhouse, as you understand, is an ideal place to warm up.

For a broom, fir branches no longer than 50-70 cm are collected, preferably with the growth of young needles. You can collect at any time of the year, but it is better to harvest brooms starting from March - April, when there is an intensive movement of sap in the tree. Usually, from this time until autumn, the needles of the tree are soft and fragrant. There is no point in repeating that you need to collect branches in environmentally friendly places.

The tradition of steaming with a fir broom is long-standing and it originated in Siberia and Altai, where coniferous trees have always been held in high esteem. Field and peppermint

Decoctions of field and peppermint were used in Rus' by our distant ancestors. And to this day they have not lost their relevance.

Mint contains many useful components, including:

  • menthol;

  • ascorbic acid (vitamin C);
  • tannins.

Thanks to them, mint has a comprehensive healing effect on the human body, helps in the treatment of diseases of the digestive and respiratory systems, eliminates the effects of stress, and improves sleep.

Mint decoction is added to hot water, due to which the steam room is filled with a pleasant and healthy menthol aroma. And while relaxing in the dressing room between visits to the steam room, it is useful to drink a cup of warm mint infusion.
